About the Program |

Journey into the realm of theatrical dance with magnificent dancers,
transcendent imagery, and gloriously uplifting repertoire in two
programs, two world premieres, and with original live music by
Libby Larsen. Buglisi's explosive Caravaggio Meets Hopper,
is a metaphor for our time — tender and brutal, passionate
and phlegmatic. Acapelorus (A Walrus Tale) is a playing
field of movement and poetry sung by an acappella chorus illuminating
the terrible beauty of the human condition. Filling out the program
are repertoire favorites: Against All Odds (Capucilli), Sand (Glass/Cassatt
string Quartet), and Sospiri. |
