Dance in this era must create an atmosphere of necessity around itself to be vital in our time. Thousands of years ago, tribal people entrusted great responsibility to their dancers. The people watched because they needed to understand what the dancers knew or gained in knowledge as they tumbled and pounded rhythmically into the earth. We feel that now, more than ever, dance must draw from its primitive heritage, when dancing was an essential element in the life of the community. The Company knows instinctively that this responsibility is our legacy. With myth, the archetype, and man's need to express the spirit within, we move ever closer to our goals--the creation of new works, the education of young dancers, and building with our audiences that magical ability of dance to plant inspiration in the heart of the heart of man.
